CREATIVE HORIZONS presents our annual

creative writing contest – PAPER PLANES!!!

 

·      Do you have the power of words?

·      Can you spin an original tale?

 

If you fancy your answers to the above questions are ‘YES!’ then we invite you to take up the challenge of becoming one of our PAPER PLANES CHAMPIONS!!!

 

Award winners may incorporate their winning stories in their portfolios for their

Direct Schools Admission (DSA)

Rules:

 

1.       All contestants must be at Creative Horizons Language Centre by stipulated time. (Refer to Application Form for specific dates and times for each category.)

2.       Titles for essays will be given at the start of the contest.

3.       Contestants will be given a strict time limit in which to complete the stories (1 hour for Lower and Middle Primary levels and 1 hour 30 minutes for Upper Primary and Secondary levels).

4.       15 shortlisted stories from each category will be available online for the general public to read and vote for their favourite. The 10 stories per category with the highest votes will be given to the judges for final selection. (The organizers reserve the right to select 2 stories per category which might not have received high votes for judges’ consideration.)

5.       Refer to www.creativehorizons.com.sg/paper_plane.php to read 15 shortlisted entries and vote for your favourite. All 15 shortlisted entrants will be notified before stories are uploaded.

6.       Winning entries will be selected by the panel of judges. No prizes will be awarded if stories do not meet a certain standard.

7.       Winners will be notified by post. There will be a prize presentation ceremony.

8.       Creative Horizons holds the copyright to all stories written during the contest.

Online announcement of 15 shortlisted entries for public voting:

·       14 June 2012 (Thursday) at 12am

 

Voting:

·       14 June 2012 (Thursday) at 12am – 24 June 2012 (Sunday) at 12am

 

Online announcement of 10 shortlisted entries for judges’ consideration:

·       27 June 2012 (Thursday) at 12am

 

Judging:

·       27 June 2012 (Thursday) at 3pm

 

Prize giving ceremony:

·       29 July 2012 (Sunday) at 7pm
