A new student has to take a diagnostic/placement test before joining the course to ensure compatibility with the course/programme. If he does not meet the minimum standards, the programme may not be suitable for him.
His joining the course will depend on the results of the test.
Only when there's a vacancy for him will he be asked to do the test because sometimes the lag time between test and vacancy is too great and the test may not be reflective.
The total amount paid will include a registration fee of $50. No deposits required.
2. Registration and collection of fees for current students for each new term
Students will be informed of the term registration and collection of fees on the 6th week of the current term.
Collection of the new term fees will commence on the 8th week of the current term (two weeks before the end of the current term).
Fees can be paid by cheque or cash.
If payment is made by cheque, it should be made payable to
'Creative Horizons Pte Ltd'.
3. Parents' Teacher Meeting / Term Reviews
To ensure good feedback to parents, there are two parent-teacher meetings and two written Term Reviews in a year for students.
Appointments to meet the teachers for the parent-teacher meetings are made through the front office.
The parent-teacher meetings are usually scheduled on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of Week 8 and Week 9 of each term. The Term Reviews are given to the students in Week 10 of each term.
4. Make-up Lesson
Students have to call in to arrange for make-up lessons.
If the class is full with 10 students, only 2 students will be allowed to do a make-up in that class. Each class can have a maximum capacity of only 12 students.
The make-up spaces will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
Each student can do a total of 6 make-up lessons in a term. However, he is not to do all the 6 make-up lessons in the same class so that he does not deprive others of the opportunity.
He can only do a maximum of 3 make-up lessons in any class.
Students who turn up unexpectedly or call in late for make-up lessons can do so if the class has a vacancy but must take a 'make-up' slip from the front office and present the slip to the teacher before joining the class.
No make-up lesson will be given if the lesson for the English Enrichment course falls on a public holiday.
5. Public Holidays
There are no lessons during public holidays and no makeup.
The week before a public holiday, teachers will give out worksheets for the affected lesson. Teachers will instruct students how to complete the worksheets and/or writing exercise.
Completed worksheets will be marked by teachers the following week.
6. Withdrawal From Course
If a student withdraws during the term, there will be a withdrawal charge of $100/- and fees for every lesson attended.
If a student withdraws before the term begins, there will be an administrative withdrawal charge of $50/-.
